How it works

There are two separate but complementary elements, designed to maximise access and appeal.

Skills Interactive - 3D games environment and activities

In the 3D environment:

  • Students can learn about enterprise and employability by exploring the 3D Skills Central, the E2 Arena or the Enterprise Academy.
  • They can also play Who wants to be an entrepreneur? try their hand at selecting The Perfect Employee, or experiment with Skills Karting.

All of these activities are aimed at:

  • encouraging learning,
  • raising awareness and
  • inviting students to explore and reflect on skills and abilities related to employability and enterprise.

By moving around each location, students will also be able to:

  • trigger additional information,
  • hear sound bites, watch video clips and
  • access resources and information.

Student Zone

The Student zone complements the 3D Skills Central site and adds value by focussing on activities (games, quizzes and self assessment exercises) to support learning related to the development of enterprise and employability skills.

Blog facility

blogA distinctive feature of this aspect of the site is that it can also be used to offer support to students who are studying for selected units within the SQA NPA in Enterprise and Employability.

In the unique Skills Express Blog students can record and save evidence related to specific learning outcomes within the NPA. As a tutor, you will be able to access individual students' Skills Express blogs to monitor progress and leave comments and advice for registered students.
